vision and prayer by Dylan thomas
I recently took out a book of poems by Dylan Thomas ( great poet but a bit too flowery), and I was surprised to see that he wrote some pattern poems. Pattern poems are, of course one of the oldest forms of visual poetry. Was Dylan Thomas a visual poet? No. He was too fond of writing in flowery ye olde metre verse for that, besides visual poetry was in its infancy at the time. Most lilky when he wrote these, he was looking at the Elisabethan pattern poems. Still interesting though.
